Many of us love taking our dogs on trips with us and giving our furry companions a taste of adventure. The following list is sorted by state with the national parks color coded according to how dog friendly they are. Keep in mind that these parks may have their own rules regarding dogs, so be sure to follow them as well. Some states have no national parks and will not appear here!

Green

Means dogs are allowed (almost) everywhere in the park, including multiple trails

Blue

Means there are one or more specific trails that allow dogs, so check the NPS website to find out where dogs are allowed.

Yellow

Means dogs can only go where cars go, so must stick to paved roads. Often this is due to wildlife and safety concerns.

Red

Means leave them at home, no dogs allowed.
